Festival of Guest Nations 2023

In celebration of foreign workers in Leamington, People Corporation participated in the annual Festival of Guest Nations event, which took place on September 17th, 2023, in Leamington, Ontario. The event was organized and managed by the Migrant Worker Community Program and sponsored by various vendors, including People Corporation, in support of their Foreign Workers Canada Health Plan, covering numerous foreign workers. The day was packed with a diverse range of activities for everyone to enjoy, including giveaways, music, food, live entertainment, and dancing. Some of the standout performances of the day came from El Charrito, Groupo El Diamante, and Mariachi Viva.

A significant highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Migrant Worker Community Program and the Consulate of Mexico. This agreement marked the establishment of Ontario's first health window in Canada. To conclude the day, everyone in attendance participated in the Independence Ceremony (Grito de Independencia) to commemorate the historical event that ignited the Mexican nation's fight for independence from Spanish rule on September 16, 1810.
